As our national pastime entered the 1990s, a new agreement between Major League Baseball and the Minor Leagues spawned the next generation of stadiums to house many of America's farm teams. How each new ballpark was built offers its own, unique story. But none is quite as compelling as the one surrounding the former home of the New York-Penn League's New Jersey Cardinals.

     The Circus Is In Town: A Baseball Odyssey provides a first-person account of the purchase and eventual relocation of the Hamilton Redbirds to Sussex County and the development of Skylands Park. It also offers an intimate look at the events that shaped my life and resulted in my becoming the driving force behind this real-life "field of dreams" saga.
